According to Corbu they will be announced during the world championships. If so, we will have little to wait, but I am very curious!
Table of proposed constitutional changes

30.2
(…)
(g) To issue, amend and revoke Policies in accordance
with the Objectives and this Constitution, provided
that:
(...)
(iii) issuance or amendments of Policies concerning the
technical rules of the Sport (including the
Technical and Competition Rules and
Regulations) is subject to prior written approval of
the Technical Committee and the Athletes
Commission.

(...)
30.3 Specific duties and functions pertaining to the
offices positions of President, First Vice
President, and General Secretary and Treasurer
are set out in Schedule 16, which shall form an
integral part of the Constitution the By-laws.

"Explanation:
- The conditions for the amendment of the technical rules by the Executive Board (written approval of the
Technical Committee and of the Athletes Commission) shall be moved into the By-laws as these are deemed
to be provisions governing operational matters.
- Schedules to the Constitution and all references thereto shall be removed, as such rules will be included in
the By-laws."

The separation of the ability of the EB to amend technical rules from the constitution to being a by-law is a big ticket item that if passed would likely result in us seeing some new weight categories quite quickly. By laws are easier to change.

The separation in principle is overdue It's the details that could be concerning and there are many countries being politically pressured to go along with it. I suspect that no one really cares about the Athletes' Commission, and that EB members will be happy to remove their decision making power over the technical rules regarding things like BW categories.

Italian Weightlifting Federation (FIPE) just released the weight categories for the youth categories. If I'm not mistaken the IWF hasn't released anything yet.

- Youth (Under17/Esordienti U15) Male: 56, 60, 65, 71, 79, 88, 98, +98
- Youth (Under17/Esordienti U15) Female: 44, 48, 53, 58, 63, 69, 77, +77
- U13 Male: 48, 52, 56, 60, 65, 71, 79, +79
- U13 Female: 41, 44, 48, 53, 58, 63, 69, +69.

In Italy the new weight categories will be effective from January 1st.

Edit: I just saw that they were also published today by the IWF (https://iwf.sport/2024/12/20/new-bodywe ... ne-1-2025/).

Breh what the fuck... Ni deserves the same punishment as Abadjiev and become weightlifting persona non grata for his involvement in Kazakhstan's systemic doping program AND playing favorites on the national teams. If you were not his "pet" lifter, you would be banned or barred from progressing further in rankings.

The man orchestrated 6 Olympic Gold medals that were proven to be achieved with illegal doping. Usually I would say, that athletes are held to standard where ignorance is no excuse, but I have to note that current Kazakh world champions have been 'let off' explaining positive tests with tainted supplements.

I'd love to see the evidence and judicial reasoning in this case. Why have the option for a life ban and then not use it. He wasn't proven innocent, it was just reduced to 4 years.

What are we doing ITA?

She didn't get a C/J last week (at W87), so she can't advance to the NG.
