Pakistan is still quite banned as far as I know.
Maruschak swapped countries early last year from memory.
Asian Champs being deprioritised ahead of Asian Games makes sense, though the events are far enough apart.
Lots of continentals in April, hopefully we get to see things heating up soon.
The Universal Weightlifting Cup in Samoa will require certifications of measles vaccines no less than 14 days ahead of arrival, which may be difficult to obtain for some athletes.
Minor competition thread
Re: Minor competition thread
I found PRK entries surprisingly low. Also all of their names are in the wrong order.
CHN only entering (closest to) OG classes this early is wild, forcing Zhao from 45 to 53 is too. I'm assuming Luo will go W61 and not retire...
I can't keep up with KAZ bans.
I hadn't even thought about the AG being this year (again)

Re: Minor competition thread
I wouldn't think too hard about it. This is just a preliminary entry list despite the awkward phrasing of the document, and as such should be treated as a draft document.
There have been many recent (and historical) cases of banned lifters appearing in preliminary entries prior to their removal from the start list. Verification of final entries will most likely remove Pakistan.

Re: Minor competition thread
Li Yan 141/176 looked good to 1kg Li Wenwen on both lifts. 145 3° pressout call for Li Yan's 3rd attempt is rough but now typical for Chinese national refereeing, 182 a bit too heavy.
CHN vs PRK vs USA in W77 should be interesting to watch moving forward.
Peng Cuiting doing 130 as a non super is the first time we've seen that in a long time, and in different circumstances now.

Re: Minor competition thread
At this point the only SHW question is whether PRC will send Li WW for her 3rd Gold at LA28, even if she's not capable of her pre-injury numbers. Both Li are still so far ahead it won't matter.
Peng will go for 130 WR at the AWC next month.
69 and 77 are both Olympic so I'd wager not all 3 will be in the same class.
