CHN lifters seemed to be poorly prepared (so far), given the location.
The last lift at M65 wouldn't have been overturned ten years ago, but potentially received two reds initially nonetheless.
205 clean at M70 is pretty crazy.
2026 WWC
Re: 2026 WWC
M70 boring outside of two DPRK lifters going hard. 205 clean and jerk (and elbow injury) at 70 is crazy.
M75 pretty good but not going to lie that I had higher expectations. I wonder if Rahmat was doing the showmanship just to cover up stress over the time. Not having a 3rd snatch attempt to save energy for the clean and jerk seems like a big tactical risk for bigger competitions.
W61 great session.

Re: 2026 WWC
I dont think Rahmat is doing anything to change the lifting gods opinion of him.
Re: 2026 WWC
The number of WR's that occurred in that 85 session immediately casts concerns of fairness in how this extra LA28 slot will be awarded.
Re: 2026 WWC
W61/M85/W69 quite good.
Yang Liuyue was in shape to challenge Pei, and I think is the bigger talent still. Didn't quite put it together. Pei looks better at 61, again no surprise.
It's a tricky situation to be in, being a squat jerker who doesn't have the strongest legs out of a clean. Still good enough to be a world record holder.
Song 275@69, 1kg under Silvenko's record. Looks to be preparing to move up?
If only the outcome weren't so predictable.

I think he was probably stressed about the clock but didn't want to show it. Coach did not select the winning weight. But that's from the outside looking in.
The men's ones are ridiculous at both 75 and 85. You can tell that there was no real methodology to it.

Re: 2026 WWC
Nasar 185/230 expected.
Re: 2026 WWC
There's 1 woman in W77 who can lift more than Song PRK and 1 in W86. So of course all of these categories should be in the OG instead of forcing them into the same class for competitive purposes.
Ri PRK should go back to W61 (110+145?) as she's in no man's land now.
The M85 quality has quite immediately returned to the LuYong/Tian/Rostami era(s), the same cannot be said for M95 where only 1 (expected) guy can hit a 220 c&j.
