Pretty sure Liao's 291 total today is the highest for non-SHW women since 2014.
Also Talakhadze wasn't in +110 B (?).
Selfishly, I wish Liao did 130+163 (my expectation for her capability), but it makes sense to choose conservatively.
I had heard ahead of the WWC that Lasha would be pulled out, I was surprised he showed up.
Yousefi's clean at 263 is the easiest clean I've ever seen at 260kg or more. Until he can snatch 200 we're going to see some great swinging for the fences from him on 3rd attempts.
Hard to say what Rubaiawi's ceiling is, I dont think its 492kg, but its going to be fun to watch. 4 lifters totaling 450+ is pretty rare.
Lalayan must think he is cursed. Finally saw off Lasha and no Gor in this competition - then these guys come along.
Men's supers was a great competition to watch, women's was not.
Ali Ammar Rubiawi reminds me of Lasha, without the same sense of balance and leg drive in the pull. It could become problematic if he doesn't work on it (e.g. Lasha always doing no-foot work). But on the other hand, his jerk seems to have more sharpness (albeit at lesser weights). If he can put on enough strength to improve the balance in his snatch/clean, I think it's feasible he could challenge some of Lasha's lifts.
Yousefi's clean and jerks being red lighted for oscillation is a reminder that Jury is a political appointment, not a meritocracy.
