Well, for Mutlu it was a steroid*, and it was after winning (another) Euros. I think we are in a different era in this regard.

Thats a good point about Mutlu. Its so long ago I cant really recall the contemporaneous impact of it, if it didn't happen I wonder if he would have tried to continue through to Beijing?

The positive for Lu though adds further confusion to a lot of people, me for one, as to why the idea of trying to come back and compete at 73kg was being attempted.

I'm just thinking about the number of positive tests for a federation and the implication in becoming completely banned from Paris - does that include coaches? With this announcement of a Ukrainian coach being banned, it would seem that Ukraine as a federation would be in trouble.

Yeah, the rules relate to ADRVs committed by "Athletes and/or other Persons affiliated to such Member Federation/National Olympic Committee from 23 July 2021 until 25 July 2024".

Additionally, if a MF/NOC has two or more ADRVs with a sanction of four or more years in Paris (including retroactive testing), they will be banned for the next Olympics (at the time of the case being fully processed).

Sanjita Chanu (no relation to Chanu Mirabai) fails internal doping test from India's NADO, both A and B sample.

Previously, USADA had a positive from a 2017 test but (at USADA's request) the IWF dropped the charges due to "non-conformities" in the handling of the case by USADA.

She was supposed to be provisionally suspended at the time of her Commonwealth Games performance but apparently neither she, nor the Indian fed knew about the situation. The handling of the case resulted in her ineligibility for Tokyo qualification.
