Mongolian coach wearing a WL belt over his T-shirt is my favorite from day 1.

Was it 'Lasha-style' to hold up one gigantic ab muscle?

It was casual, on a looser hole on the front. Like "WL attire". And he was a SHW sized man, it wouldn't be a belt of his athlete (small woman).
The replay doesn't work right now, a picture will help.

[*] At what age will Eko Yuli Irawan no longer be able to snatch double bodyweight and/or retire? 40? 45? 50?
If he snags a 5th Olympic medal, do we need to evaluate the pantheon of all time great lifters? It would put him alone, leaving Schmansky, Peschalov, Dimas and Weller behind. Few newer fans of the sport hold much reverence for those lifters, and to the extent that they know much about historical feats, prefer to concentrate on peak lifting numbers over career-long consistency and longevity.
Is he a top 25 all time male lifter?

As an Italian I must comment on Giulia's competition: I cannot understand.
the Italian team is not interested in the competition, it is only interested in the Olympic qualification. OK perfect. But then why those 98kg in the first attempt? In the ranking she is thirteenth with 183kg. If you only want to play for qualification, why not enter with 99kg? Yuo earn a kilo, which may be enough to make you climb 3 positions.
Ok ok, she needs to do a first low attempt to be confident. But after the fail at 101 why go up to 103 at the end?
I cannot explain. But surely they are right: they are there, fighting for an olympic spot and I'm here, commenting anonymously in a forum XD

As half Italian, I agree. Just because we are not there does not mean we cannot be critical of some of these attempts and choices. I am a firm believer of training for the opener and building momentum from there more than anything else. There is the human factor that is erratic and unpredictable at times, so no matter how well prepared someone is, that can lead to failure. I think Italy's aggression and focus is both their strength and weakness at competitions. It has resulted in phenomenal results (Pizzolato 175/217, Miserendino 110 snatch, Imperio 101 CJ, etc) but also just as much disappointing results.

W49A thoughts
- HOU Zhihui CHN made a mistake not pushing it in the snatch to pressure teammate JIANG Huihua. I predicted this outcome as soon as the second attempt snatches were done.
- I still find it amusing that the Chinese team go to worlds and only post food/fishing on social media.
- Attempt selection and success rate was somewhat less of a bloodbath than prior events.
- Team USA were professional time wasters in the clean and jerk. Reichardt continues to trail Delacruz in the qualification, I think partially because they're chasing Delacruz rather than playing their own game. Delacruz looks strong but unrefined compared to her peak thus far at around 2021 Pan Ams.
- Lovely INAN PHI was the only bomb out, opening on equal PB snatch. Two successful clean and squat jerks, both looked like they hit her with a ton of bricks and she pulls out of her third witb a hurt elbow. One wonders about these coaching decisions. Rosegie RAMOS PHI breaks into the Olympic qualification with 188, rank 9. No other changes to top 10.
- Commentator saying "[athlete] moves well" followed by a miss relating to a significant technical error count: 1.

Jiang muy bueno. Hou needs 97+119 to get #1 rank and I don't think she can do both lifts on the same day.
Romania sucks. No, I will not elaborate.

Hot points:
- Giulia regrets failing the 101, because "era necessario come il pane" (= it was necessary like bread).
- the first snatch attempt at 80 was very good, so the strategy was to go up to 85. The first try at 85 was off not because of a technical error but for lack of determination. The second try was good because Giulia was wery determinated.
- the clean at 98 was more difficult than the clean at 101. She failed the jerk because she was too hasty because she felt the clean "too well".
- after 101 Giulia should have been back on the platform immediately. So they chose to go up to 103, because she felt could do it.
- the clean at 103 was too high (lack of rythm) and maybe not concentrated enough.
- the first goal of the competition was 185 (so why starting at 98 and do 101?).
- she has the quality to do 190-191.

Ding CHN bronze with 2/6 from B group. Weirdos.
ITA good lifting and finally not opening at 100%.
W55 completely uninteresting.
