Konotop 2023 Euros reminds me of Kostova 2015 Euros. Just not as extreme.
Heh, was thinking along the same lines. Immediate thought was "okayyyyyyyyyyyy?". 106/129 looked very strong for her. In her defence, she's young and went up a bodyweight category. But also...
IMO Kostova isn't really comparable. The sheer scale is a key part on it's own. Not a lot matches in the current era, except for the gap between Thailand's 2017 WWC then 2018 WWC team. That was... something.

Still, I think 235 will be bettered at Asians. 2022 WWC was a weak result given the attendance.

I have a feeling we're not going to see a 200kg front squat from Konotop any time soon.

Did Toma ROU retire today? She put the belt on the platform after her last attempt.

I would assume that is what is implied there.

I think she retired from any more lifting that night. In all seriousness, I think she's just being dramatic/showy like Chinese Screaming Man sitting on the bar. IMO she looked exasperated, lifted through painand looks like she's walking with a limp (decreased loading/stance time on L leg).
Retiring now, right on the cusp of Paris + sponsorships seems like an unlikely time.

Men's 89kg was aight. Disappointed but not entirely surprised that Pizzolato pulled out. Nasar new WR was aight.
Andranik Karapetyan was in unexpectedly good shape, though as a member of thr Armenian national team we don't know if he's been training well, more drugs or simply rolled good RNG.

Pizzolato still doesn't have a qualification total.
I think this was Karapetyan's highest snatch result. Arguably not "best" since he did 174 at 77.

She posted a pic on instagram of infiltration on both knees, with the word before and another one with the 3 gold medals and the word after. She really seemed to be lifting in pain
