I honestly expected it. The only mandatory event remaining is the World Cup as the Chinese athletes all have 4 qualifying competitions recorded.
The CWA has also cut back on international competitions outside of Olympic qualifying events, you don't see Chinese lifters at Junior or Youth events any more.
The cost of sending a Chinese delegation is sizeable. In 2021, the CWA president said it cost 500k USD to send a delegation of 57 personnel to Tashkent, not including quarantining costs once they returned to China.

Apart from Shi everyone already has his/her BIG total.

Shi either needs M89/102 CHN or Abdullah to be injured pre-selection, Meso back to PB form, or a 360+++ total to be sent. Never say never, China will wait until the submission date to make their decision.
Bet whoever kept He Yueji down at 61/now 67 is regretting it (unless internal CHN politics). Kid's growth has been stunted.
I expect many of those with 4 participations and a safe qualifying total to pull out from the continentals. No point competing, no point paying to weigh in. Those with a safe total and 3 participations will probably just weigh in, understandably.
Otherwise, weightlifting news seems to still be slow over the break. Things will heat up in the coming weeks as we get the continental qualifiers, and as we will probably get news from ITA Rio reanalyses soon. Going off vibes only, I'd expect THA/COL/EGY/IRI/GEO to have some positives, along with the usual suspects who may already be ineligible for Paris qualification upon finalisation (KAZ, RUS etc.)
Georgia will be in a very tough spot if any of their lifters old samples ruins the qualification for their golden child, including his own. Curious to see if we see any countries get banned from Paris purely off reanalyses (e.g. UZB, ROU). Doubly curious to see if we get any unexpected countries, as I have my bets.

Abdullah INA can do 160+200 consistently nowadays and only Shi 2021 could beat that with room to spare. He will not get selected. He'll do 165+190 MAX in Thailand, but just for statistics in the end.
Indonesia has a giant population, it's only natural that one talent like this filters through eventually (and China can only grimace).

Deng Wei wasn't selected for Tokyo due to injury. Shit happens, even if you're a clear #1. China will not make its decision until necessary.
Agreed wrt Rahmat, not only a huge population but also robust youth recruitment (unlike India or other populous countries). Every robust system produces the occasional freak like Sa Jae Hyouk or Benjamin Hennequin. It's a shame that Rizki Juniansyah wasn't able to keep up, they were pushing each other well in the past.
