ABDULLAH Al-Jarmal (YEM) had a complaint against the IWF relating to the Electoral Congress. Not related to the mysterious non-statement by the IWF prior.

What was that about anyway? Nobody is DSQ in the results so far, at least.

Not sure. What I know is that people were on strict orders to keep their mouths shut, so the truth is unlikely to come out until post post-Worlds.
There is a rumor going around but it is unsubstantiated and honestly sounds like made up bigotry.

Congrats - it's a lot of work to set up a federation after the previous one died an ugly death.

Thank you. There is still a huge amount of work to be done, that includes state suppport, which will be easier to request having the international affiliation. A couple of lifters will compete internationally.

The Asian Weightlifting Federation recently held its Electoral Congress in Doha (along with the Qatar cup).
The results (
found here) are unsurprising.
Obviously many of the appointments have high level involvement at both AWF and IWF level. Not illegal but it doesn't look good to me (not that they or the IOC care).

IWF Athlete's Commission representatives announced.
ItG article
Forrester Osei (Ghana) voted to remain in as AC chair, along with Hidilyn Diaz (Phillippines) and Luisa Peters (Cook Islands) also voted in.
With the games and attempted lobbying (it's not corruption if you're Western) that was going on, I think this result is satisfactory.
No country should have more than one vote on the board, through direct appointment or mouthpieces who technically represent another country but not really.

I honestly don't think it matters who's on the AC. I mean, it's the lifters after all who get banned. Bit of holier than thou aspect to it.
