Will we ever really know what happened with the Lu Xiaojun case? He failed his appeal and its hard to determine from that media release exactly what the nature of the appeal was.

If you are familiar with the Peter Bol case, the 800m who had a positive test for EPO overturned due to faulty detection methods - then you might have had the same thought I had when the Lu case was first reported. Anyway, here we are. One of the most popular lifters of the last 15 years finishes their career with a 4 year ban.

If we remove Nijat Rahimov, Lyu Xiaojun and Mohammed Ehab, the next placed Rio contestant would be Chatuphum Chinnawong THA who was most likely extremely clean. Andres Mata ESP would actually be the first athlete I would assume to be clean of that session.
At least Tokyo results fair a bit better.

There were external (non-sport related) pressures with Lyu Xiaojun's return post-Tokyo, which may have something to do with him returning to training now. I doubt he'll ever make a meaningful comeback to be honest. You can only fight aging so long.
