Man, 2016 feels like a lifetime ago. In a way that 2008-2016 didn't. All this tinkering with team sizes, qualification and of course categories (eugh) was detrimental, when doping was supposedly the impetus.

At this point, I think retests are pointless and lame. I am for improving the technology and sensitivity but to strip athletes of results many years later, and after retirement for many, is stupid. Use the samples to improve technology, send a letter of warning to the athletes and federations that this shit would not fly under current technology, and ban athletes going forward within a reasonable time and not two or three quads later.

Presumably her defence was successful. It's a much more believable case than many of these defences (mesterolone, S-23 etc.)

As it falls outside of LA28 qualification I don't think anyone in ECU is bothered by this suspension.
