Few highlights from Nov'22 CHN Nationals

After many moons China had an in person Nationals again in November of 2022. However NEITHER the teams for Asian or World champs were present. Despite this there were still a few notable lifts/attempts.

M55
Zou Weibin increased the national C&J record to 160 which is the second highest number after Om YunChol's 166 (which will never be beaten). Zou's 275 total is also higher than WWC Gold, but what can you do.

M67
The Gold totaled 323, 1kg less than Chen Lijun at worlds.

M81
Winner Luo Chongyang had a decent 165/195/360 total.

W49
Gold = 204, so only Jiang WWC was better globally.

W55
Zhang Haiqin, apparently 17, managed a 130kg clean and jerk. Which is a senior WR. What.

W81
Wu Yan increased the national records (at that time) to 119/150/269. So not only is there a THIRD women in the 270 range within China, it likely also explains some of the attempt selection for Wang/Liang at the WWC (120 snatch, 151 jerk etc).

W87
Bao Yangxi did 122/152/274 --- 14kg over WWC gold.

W87+
Sun Yongjie (*1998) who snatched 140, was called out on a slight press out for a 180 C&J. She did the only logical thing, increased to a 188 WR - and cleaned it! Some may remember her way back from 2015 when she lifted well over the contemporary Youth WRs.
