And we (POR) are going to return to competition after a +20 years hiatus. Everyone on the team is amateur, some of them already masters :)

Curious to see if and how the russian athletes will compete.

You are welcome. I'm just wondering why Lydia Valentin is in the list??... she barely trains now

tbh, she probably has nothing else to do in her life, so she has defaulted back to what she knows.

she posted a throwback video of her doing like 25 and 50 from once upon a time saying she's trying to come back from her prior injuries

Lydia has looked like she has been lifting around/with injury for many years, I don't think it's just old age that is getting her.

Many lifetime career athletes have no backup career and little education, though I can't speak for Lydia.

Some move into coaching, for better and for worse (depending on their competency and empathy as a coach).

When the IWF Athletes Commission conducted a poll on social media, nearly 75 per cent of the 2,000 athletes and officials who responded said they were against the idea of weightlifters from Russia and Belarus competing in Paris or any IWF competitions under a neutral sporting flag.

Where is that poll? I seriously doubt that's representative of MFs from South America, Africa or Asia.

2000 "instagram athletes"? Is this a joke?

Edit: RE: Kashirina. If she manages 275 in comp she can easily qualify as an 81+ for Paris (all other things permitted). This total will rank top 10 at SHW.
