The violation date suggests this test was OOC after the 2024 Asian Championships. This now moves BIDANI Walid ALG 420 into 10th.

I was aware of Yufkin's result, hence *mostly*. There were other names I was familiar with, for one reason or another.

Is this not a second doping violation for Djangabaev??

Correct, he tested positive OOC for hGH in 2019, 4 year sanction. Expensive drug and WADA is lucky they conducted the test OOC. This time would be 7 or 8 years? That's his career almost certainly finished.

The rumour goes that Ostarine is difficult to detect or has a short detection window, I think the frequency of metabolite detections suggests otherwise.

Most likely the athlete used the legal process to delay the publication to some degree. No surprise that a Bulgarian tested positive; particularly one who defected to Bulgaria to sling heavy weights and improved ridiculously quickly despite maintaining incredibly poor technique.

Partially random, partially non-random. There is obviously targeted testing towards particular athletes, David Fischer as a highly relevant example. Unfortunately it is not feasible to test all athletes.

Personally, I think that in-competition testing in itself has limited efficacy for teams with well funded pharmacology support. Out of competition testing, targeted based off competition red flags but with randomised time within a window seems to be the way we see most positives nowadays.

For athletes who source PEDs individually or do not have it well planned/executed, drug contamination or availability can be a contributing factor to in-competition positives. Some of these drugs have extremely long detection windows (several months).

Of course, it can also be something as stupid as "oh, I thought ostarine wasn't detectable".

What do we make of the Kazakh cases? Agreement on consequences? 16 to 18months for SARMS? What gives?

My thoughts are that you should use condoms rather than S-23 for male birth control. Doesn't cost as much, it works better and you're less likely to get an STI. The pros outweigh the cons.

16-18 months and agreement on consequences suggests considerable co-operation between the ITA and the athletes. In notable contrast, Adiletuly Nurgissa and Antropov Artyom tested positive on the same dates (12-13 May 2023) but have not had their sanctions finalised. I would wager that we will see another athlete support personnel receiving another sanction as Alexey Ni did.

Edit: I misremembered, he stood down but was not sanctioned. I confused him for Liu Ning

Side note: Alina Maruschak's positive for diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide) isn't showing up on the ITA sanction list at the moment.
