Wow, I wonder how much she will be able to maintain this physical shape at 49kg (I haven't seen the competition but I imagine that to have tried those loads she must have had reasonable confidence in being able to do them).

Re: Minor competition thread
It would be nice to know her bw at the French event...
https://iwf.sport/weightlifting_/athlet ... 6&id=14742
Best as a 49 : 48.80 89 104 193
At the Tokyo Games , 81 99 180
Re: Minor competition thread
No BW listed in the results book as she is not registered with a French club with the federation.Guima73 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 4:31 pmIt would be nice to know her bw at the French event...

My prediction for the Games: 85±1/104±2 at 49. To me, she looks like a full but not overfull 55.

USA nationals
Jourdan Delacruz 84x/84/90x + 107/111/114 at 53.21. Looked ok, not her best. Not sure if she's peaked. I would guess she isn't. Jerk looks strong, snatch is missing the top end compared to her best snatches.
Olivia Reeves 120+151 at 70.83. Continuing upward trajectory, China's decision to leave the category alone looking to be a good noe.
Mary Thiesen Lappen 114/118/120x + 150/155/160x. Good contender for fourth.
Pan Am Jrs
SIMONEAU Charlotte CAN (born 2005) 5/6, 100/104/107 + 123/127/130x was a good performance.
BRICS Games
59 Alina Schachapava BLR 99/119 for 5/5. Good enough to qualify for Paris if she were to test negative.
W71 RUS 19y/o Zarina Gusalova won with 3/6, 108/122. Missed 128 and 130. Probably clean? Would be a contender for next Olympic cycle if not for IOC/RUS rulings.
W81 Darya Naumava BLR 111/138, missed 144. Surprised we haven't seen her all quad, not sure if she got drug banned or if she was actively involved with the military (and thus ineligible for IWF events).
M73 Zulfat Garaev RUS 156/180, missed 185. Potential Olympic contender outside of politics, reasonably likely to be clean.
M89 Okulov did 162/200.
102 RUS Kuptsov and Klimonov 393 and 388 respectively.
102+ Daniil Vagaytsev did 186/230, beating Lovchev (190/220).

Last weekend, during nationals, Nino Pizzolato did a sort of test competition: he did 170-175x-175 and 200-215x-220x.

British Weightlifting Nationals
KOANDA Solfrid NOR 121+157 at 83.36
CAMPBELL Emily GBR 123+164
Good lifting from both. Campbell seems to have made a complete recovery from her injury.
I thought Mayora lifted well. 6/6, 155/193 at 76.60. If they didn't taper for this competition, I think this performance could be replicated at 73 in Paris. The other Venezuelans were ok, Vallenilla excluded.
Nina Sterckx lifted quite reasonably, 90x/90/93+110/114/117x at 52.80. Bodyweight seems to be on track for cutting to 49 though I wonder if that will end up affecting placings as we don't know about some of the other lifters' current state.

Imadouchene and Vallenilla both look injured, particularly the latter. Performance well down on their best.Guima73 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 6:02 pm https://sportdeutschland.tv/bvdg/pokal- ... erter-2024

Re: Minor competition thread
Solfrid seems to be on the road for gold, 150kg+ jerk, who can oppose that??
I don´t believe that Nina can medal, 4th place top??
